WMT signup deadline is officially closed

    11 11 2008

The signups for the trips to Cambodia and Taiwan this winter are officially closed!  We extended the deadline from 11/3 to 11/10 to get more signups.  Now we’re cutting it awfully close to the departure dates, so the signups are officially closed.

If you still want to attend, please get in touch with Carmen [dot] Hsu [at] gpmail [dot] org ASAP.  We make no guarantees, but we will do our best to include you.

Check back here for more information about our Summer Mission Trip to Honduras…  and maybe one other place too!

WMT deadline extended & training dates

    4 11 2008
We would like to get additional sign ups, especially for Cambodia, so we’re going to open up sign-ups until Monday, Nov. 10. So if you were planning to sign up but missed the deadline, then here’s your chance.  And if you weren’t planning to go this winter, but are able to, then this is your chance to do God’s kingdom work abroad!

And since many people have been asking: mission training will take place during the evenings of the week immediately prior to departure.  These meetings are mandatory (exceptions will be made for students taking exams).  Please refer to the FAQ if you have other questions.

    WMT deadline is fast approaching…

    31 10 2008

    deadline

As we need to finalize our Winter Mission Teams to Taiwan and Cambodia for this Winter, the deadline to sign up is Monday, November 3, 2008.  The year has flown by and it’s hard to imagine that our mission teams will be leaving in approximately 2 months.  We need to finalize the rosters, order plane tickets, and have some training before then too!  If you need more information on each individual trip, please see the Winter 2008 Page for more information on Taiwan and Cambodia.

    From Pastor William:

If you’re planning to go to Cambodia or Taiwan this winter and haven’t signed up yet, then please do so by this monday, November 3rd.

This winter, in Taiwan, we’ll be helping our Taiwan church reach out to college students by inviting them to our Christmas celebration.   It’s a wonderful opportunity to explain the reason for the season and to tell newcomers about why Jesus had to come to be with us.  There will be lots of fun outreach activities. And it won’t be HOT!

And shortly after the new year begins, we’ll be going back to Life University reaching out to students of all ages in Cambodia.  Don’t miss out on this life changing opportunity.

    New Mission Trips Announced!

    26 09 2008

We are pleased to announce that we are sending two Winter Mission Teams to Cambodia and Taiwan, and one Summer Mission Team to Honduras!

The Cambodia trip will be from January 4-15, 2009.  The Taiwan trip will be from December 19-27, 2008.  For you working folks, you only need to take 4 days off for Taiwan WMT, in case you were wondering.

The Honduras trip will take place during the summer from May 30 to June 5, 2009.  This trip will be coordinated with Baptist Medical and Dental Missions International (BMDMI).  We are also looking into the possibility of sending a team to Kyrgyzstan as well, so stay tuned for that!

If you are interested, please see the Winter 2008 Page for more information on Taiwan and Camboda.  Please see the Summer 2009 Page for more information on Honduras.  For registration for WMT 2008, please check the Sign Up page.  And if you have questions, please email us.

Gracepoint Fellowship Church College Missions Night

    25 09 2008

Our college groups at Gracepoint Fellowship Church Berkeley, Acts 2 Fellowship, Kairos, and Koinonia will be joining together for a combined College Missions Night this Friday.

What’s a Mission Night?  Well, this past summer we had around 185 members go on missions to places like Thailand, Taiwan, Honduras, Cambodia, and China.  We’re going to gather to hear some of their stories, and also see pictures/videos of all that happened this summer.  It should be an inspiring and encouraging time for everyone.

    Date: Friday 9/26
    Time: 7pm
Location: First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley (corner of Channing and Dana)

    Missions at Gracepoint

    25 08 2008
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  –Matthew 28:18-20
Gracepoint Fellowship Church is committed to heeding Christ’s command to go to the nations to preach his word and to make disciples.  Every year hundreds of our members take time to go to the mission field for short term trips.  On December 23, 2007 we planted a mission church in Hsinchu, Taiwan.  You can see their website here.
